Qᴜɪʀᴋ
Peridot can produce a variety of translucent shields in a variety of shapes and sizes. Which can usually take anywhere between three to twelve hits depending on the size of the shield and her physical condition at the time. Usually the larger the shield, the less hits it can withstand.She can create multiple shields at once, however her current limit is twelve, any more than that and she will become increasingly fatigued and consequently will become sluggish. She also feels each hit that her shields take in her arms so prolonged or particularly powerful attacks can put her at a disadvantage as it risks tipping her over her pain threshold and affecting her concentration enough to render her shields essentially useless. However she has been working on this drawback by exposing herself to prolonged attacks from classmates and underclassmen with offensive quirks and sparring with powerhouse students to condition herself to be able to withstand more pain than she can currently.She can also do a special move where her shield can absorb the kinetic energy of her opponent's attacks, multiply it by 70% and then throw the accumulated energy of their hits back at them in a single blow. However she will loose consciousness almost immediately afterwards and can remain unconscious for up to four hours afterwards. For this reason she only uses it as a last resort.Regular overuse causes symptoms such as hot and cold flushes, muscle aches and even minor concussions.
Aᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ
Peridot is an average sized girl with a slight build, pale skin, curly brown hair and green eyes. She was often been likened to a doll or fairy in middle school and occasionally by people first meeting her, much to her annoyance, an impression which isn't improved by an unfortunate miscommunication with the support department who ended up developing an elegant, ladylike costume rather than the simple, sporty one which she had specified.In her spare time, she tends to be more lazy, preferring lose, baggy clothing and often allowing her hair to become somewhat unkempt.
Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ
Despite her ladylike appearance, Peridot is anything but. She grew up in a rough neighbourhood of her home city and due to how dodgy the area was, she learned how to fight with reasonable competence from a fairly early age and while she would usually much rather resolve the situation through negotiation where possible she will throw down if people start stirring up trouble and it can't be resolved through other means. She also tends to speak rather crudely, often punctuating her speech with swearwords and unsavory slang.Despite being naturally suspicious of others, she is quite chatty, but frequently uses profanity. She is very blunt and often speaks without thinking and so you will almost always get her unfiltered opinion when talking to her. Sometimes with hilarious results. She has a good sense of humour, albeit a somewhat sardonic one. She often makes sarcastic, ironic or cynical comments for her own and other's amusement. While she used to anger quite easily, she is now able to contain it for the most part though she is still fiesty.Unfortunately, Peridot has a lot of other shortcomings. For one her timing is notoriously poor; she's almost always running a little late to class or social events and on the odd occasion that she's early or on time she always manages to walk in during the most inappropriate moments. Despite this she is actually quite intelligent and has a formidable work ethic.She always gives her classes 100% and strives for the best grades. This is partly because she is on a scholarship and would not be able to afford to attend Yuuei if she lost her scholarship. However, she is also genuinely prepared to work hard to achieve her goals.Also, despite being quite crude in many respects she's actually rather prude when it comes to anything even mildly raunchy and tends to be easily grossed out by the mention of sexual acts and kinks. She also has a marked distaste for overly perverted people.Also, despite coming off as frosty, she does have a soft streak and often ends up being one of the people that looks after her classmates and friends. Usually in the form of bailing them out when things go spectacularly wrong, but sometimes in slightly more nurturing ways like making sure people are taking care of themselves or giving them advice on how to deal with their problems.

Peridot was born in a council district in the city of Leeds, England. She was raised by her Mother Jade and her Grandparents; Evergreen and Forest after her father walked out on her family when she was three and cleared out the family bank account when he left. Because of this, she has quite a few trust issues, and is often quite hostile, despite her good intentions.Because of how rough the area was, Peridot learned to fight competently from a reasonably young age. She also developed a keen intuition and is very street smart.Her mother, in an attempt to ensure that Peridot would have a better life, worked two jobs. A day job at an office and an evening job at a pub and Peridot frequently had to stay there with her as her mother worked. Heroes coming off shift would often take the time to talk to her and regale stories of their jobs to her.The more she heard, the more she wanted to become a hero like them, however it was when she was nine that this dream really came into fruition.While watching international TV, she was able to witness the debut of an up and coming japanese hero; Ransa. She admired his valour during battle and found his agreeable yet rougish persona appealing. Enough so that she started to follow his career tuning into any of his interviews and news feeds that could potentially include him.It didn't take long before the young girl started to idolize the young hero and began to think more seriously about becoming a hero, herself. She had the quirk to do It, she just needed more training.Peridot soon started to take her classes more seriously, expressing her desire to attend a prep school where she would be allowed to hone her quirk and learn more sophisticated fighting techniques.Eventually her grade rose to the point where she passed an entrance exam and was admitted as a student. However, this took a toll on her mother, who was already struggling to support them both. Jade increased her hours at the bar and cut back on non-essentials to be able to afford to send Peridot to the prep school. This is a sacrifice that Peridot has never forgotten and has since vowed that when she becomes a hero she will use the wages to buy her mother her dream home in the countryside and ensure that she is taken care of.She thrived at the prep school, excelling in hand to hand combat and with melee weapons and showed particular promise with twin swords and, much to her delight, spears.When she reached fourteen, she had intended to try primarily for Shiketsu, despite it being practically over the other side of the world. However her teachers encouraged her to try for other schools there too, especially Yuuei. Saying that she would most likely be good enough to pass the entance exam there.Tentatively, she agreed and later aced the exam to the point where the school offered her a scholarship. She took the place offered to her at Yuuei, reasoning that the school was closer to where Ransa was actually working and it's prestigious status might open up an opportunity for her to secure a placement at his agency somewhere along the line. Not knowing that his career as a pro hero would come to an end within a year of her attending the academy.However, she has since stuck with her decision and her resolve to become a hero in her own right is unwavering. Over the last two years, she has explored her own reasons for becoming a hero aside from how she idolized other heroes and while she gets to live some of her old dream, she is no longer caught up in the notion of following in another's footsteps and wishes to forge her own path.

Shang is easily one of Peri's best friends, to point where she practically sees him as a brother. Despite the two being opposites in practically every regard she is fiercely loyal to him. She sometimes worries that his kind nature will lead him to be taken advantage of and thus is quite protective of him. She also tends to be more gentle with him than most others and on occasion will even confide in him about her insecurities or ask for advice in topics she's unsure of. Although on occasion she enjoys teasing him, mostly by sending him cursed basketball memes or finding creative ways to make vegetables unhealthy, overall she treasures him and their friendship, and couldn't imagine life without him.

At first Tsu and Peri's friendship was a little rocky, largely due to Tsu having formerly harboured unrequited feelings for Peri and being a little too forward about it for Peri's tastes. However, that doesn't mean that Peridot was entirely unmoved by Tsu. In fact, she had always thought of her as a dear friend and often felt guilty that she couldn't love her in the way Tsu had wanted. Even if she did enforce firm and clear boundaries, she always tried to be there for her friend and ensure that she never felt pushed out or judged for the nature of her quirk. Tsu has since moved on emotionally and since then their friendship has blossomed and Peri is always quietly delighted by her friend's every success, both on and off the battlefield.

• In addition to her combat skills, she is also a talented gymnast.• Despite her harsh persona, she is intelligent, hardworking and does care a lot about others and has a soft spot for cute animals and children.• She's surprisingly easy to talk to if you can get beyond her natural suspiciousness and ignore her crudeness.• She prefers dogs to cats, but likes both.• She is afraid of cockroaches.• She's one of those rare people who goes into fight mode rather than flight mode when she is scared or startled.• She is rather creative with her crude language.• She prefers savoury treats over sweets, but has a rather marked weakness for ice cream.• Tangy Cheese Doritos are literally her most favourite thing ever. She loves them with her whole heart and soul.• She only likes dark chocolate.• Her hair is generally considered to be an unmanageable nightmare. Her thick curls have lead to the deaths of six hair brushes, the snapping of 42 hair ties, the use and subsequent loss of many fine bobby pins and over 25 hair clips have been misplaced due to her hair stubbornly pushing them out of her hair.• Her best subject is maths, however she hates it and prefers subjects like history and chemistry.• Despite her own tendency to be a grouch or even outright aggressive she has a soft spot for people with a gentle, cheerful or even goofy personality but easily loses patience with people who have similar personalities to herself or those who she feels are too arrogant.• She is actually quite self-conscious although she will deny it fiercely, she actually laments over her looks quite a lot internally.• She has a special hatred for her eyes because it's the one physical trait that she got from her Dad.• In the evenings she works part time at a bar to give herself some extra income and support herself. However it's seedy and she very much dislikes many of the patrons and her boss but sticks at it to support herself. She also almost always gets paid late and often has to yell at her boss over the phone to get him to pay her whenever her wage is late.• She secretly hates green tea.• As much as she complains about always having to be the one to look after others she actually likes it because it makes her feel wanted.• If asked about physical features that she finds attractive she'll always say brown eyes.
